LADY IN BLACK" TAMES RED MAN RACING

DARLINGTON, S.C. (May 7, 2010) -- The Red Man Racing team entered Friday night's Royal Purple 200 at Darlington International Raceway with seven straight top-15 finishes including six consecutive top-10 finishes when Greg Biffle was behind the wheel of the No. 27. The "Lady in Black" tamed the team on Friday, collecting the No. 27 Red Man Moist Snuff Ford into the wall in both practice and the race resulting in a season-worst 35th-place finish.

A Turn 4 spin during practice caused damage to the right side of the Red Man Moist Snuff Ford causing the team to spend the majority of Friday's only practice in the garage making repairs. The team was able to repair the damage and return Biffle to the track for the last 30 minutes of practice.

Biffle started the race from the eighth position and by lap 10 had made his way into the top 5. He communicated to crew chief Rick Viers that the car was just a bit tight in the middle of the corners. When the second caution of the race occurred on lap 28, Biffle brought his No. 27 Red Man Moist Snuff Ford Fusion down pit road where the Red Man Racing crew put on right side tires, filled it with fuel and returned the veteran driver back to the track in the second position.

The Vancouver, WA native ran second for the next ten laps before settling into the third spot. He continued to communicate to Viers that the car was tight in the center of the corners. When a caution occurred on lap 59, Biffle brought his car down pit road where the crew pulled a spring rubber from the left rear, put on four fresh tires and filled the No. 27 Red Man Moist Snuff Ford with fuel.

When the race restarted on lap 63, Biffle was scored in the ninth position. He made his way up to sixth place but communicated to Viers that the adjustments had made the car too free. On lap 81 Biffle got loose in turn 2 making contact with the wall. The veteran was able to drive the car to the garage but the damage was too severe to return to the race.

Biffle, who currently ranks eighth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings, and the Red Man Racing team return to action next Saturday, May 15th, when the series heads to Dover International Speedway for the Heluva Good! 200.
