Sellers Set for Short Track; Rookie Readies for Next NASCAR Nationwide Race at ORP

Welcome, NC.: NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Peyton Sellers is anxious to get back in the seat of the #77 SFP Chevrolet this weekend; partly because the Cardinal Motorsports team is coming off a four week hiatus, but also because he expects the track to suit him well.

O'Reilly Raceway Park is a .686 mile mostly flat oval, a familiar sight to the former Whelen All American National Champion. Sellers has had his best runs in the series this year on short tracks, posting an impressive 12th place qualifying run at Richmond and top 20 finishes coming both there and at Milwaukee. The rookie driver and new team are expected to be a force to be reckoned with in the race this weekend.

"I've never run ORP before, but it looks like it'll run a lot like Irwindale", said Sellers. Irwindale has been the site of some of Sellers' most epic races. In each of the past two Toyota All-Star races there, he has challenged for the win on the final turn of the final lap.

"He's as good as it gets on a track like this", said team owner Will Spencer. "As a new team, it would have been nice to have some practice time, but Peyton's jumped on tracks like this many times and figured them out pretty quickly."

The race this weekend continues a string of short tracks on the Cardinal Motorsports schedule, with Iowa and Bristol still to come. The team also announced last week the addition of the road course at Watkins Glen, which will also be sponsored by SFP.
