BUSCH HEADS TO KANSAS LOOKING TO EXPAND POINT LEAD

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (September 29, 2009) - Kyle Busch is hoping that the 1.5-mile tri-oval in Kansas can act as springboard to a NASCAR Nationwide Series championship. Pacing second-place Carl Edwards by 211 points heading into the final seven races on the schedule, it's pivotal for Busch to look at expanding his point lead.

What better place to do it than this weekend's race at Kansas Speedway-one that saw Busch become the victor in 2007's Nationwide Series event.

This Saturday, Busch hops behind the wheel of his NOS Energy Drink Toyota Camry in hopes that he can continue to separate himself from Edwards and third-place Brad Keselowski in the Nationwide Series point standings. Busch currently leads the series in wins (6), top-five finishes (20), and top-10 finishes (24) and is closing in on capping off the 2009 season with his first NASCAR championship.

KYLE BUSCH:

"This place has been hit-or-miss for me-one year we're good and the next we're not-but I feel like this time, we should be pretty good. Both (Joe Gibbs Racing) cars were really good at Chicago and this is a similar track for the exception that it's wider. I think we'll be fast and the 20 (Joey Logano) will be fast.

"We're focused on gaining as many points as we can on the 60 car (Carl Edwards) since the season is winding down so we're focused on what we can do to win the championship. But it's been a while since we've won one of these Nationwide races, so it would be good to get the NOS Energy Drink Camry back to victory lane."

Kyle Busch has scored one NASCAR Nationwide Series win at Kansas Speedway, claiming the victory in 2007 after leading 17 laps on the day.

Busch has led a total of 37 laps in Nationwide Series competition at Kansas Speedway.
