RAB Racing names Townley for Iowa

Townley to Drive for RAB Racing at Iowa

CONCORD, N.C. (7-27-10) -- RAB Racing with Brack Maggard is pleased to announce John Wes Townley will pilot the No. 09 Zaxby's Ford Fusion in Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway.

Townley, the 20-year-old Watkinsville, Ga. native, previously competed for RAB Racing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series in 2008 and in the NASCAR Nationwide Series during the 2009 season where he was a Raybestos Rookie of the Year candidate in the No. 09 Ford Fusion. Townley has 34 total career starts in NASCAR's junior circuit.

In five starts this season, Townley has consistently qualified inside the top-15 with his best effort of fifth coming in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. Townley continued to jumpstart the 2010 season by leading 10 laps under green at Las Vegas Motor Speedway en route to a 15th place finish.

"I have always had a great deal of respect for Robby Benton and Brack Maggard," Townley said. "I'm looking forward to climbing back behind the wheel of their No. 09 Ford this weekend in Iowa."
