Scott Wimmer NASCAR Nationwide Series Advance: Gateway International Raceway

RECORD BREAKER -- Driver Scott Wimmer holds the NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying record at Gateway International Raceway. Wimmer drove into the record books in 2007 when he scored his first career NNS pole with a lap time of 33.246 seconds (135.355 mph).

CLOSE TO HOME -- St. Louis is the home of StopRepairBills.com, primary sponsor of the No. 40 Chevrolet. While in town for the upcoming race, Scott Wimmer will be visiting with StopRepairBills.com employees, many of whom will be attending Saturday's race. The full-service auto warranty company has just recently signed on for five more races in 2009.

CHASSIS INFORMATION -- Key Motorsports will be utilizing chassis #050 at this weekend's race at Gateway International Raceway. This chassis was most recently raced at New Hampshire International Speedway, where Wimmer finished 17th.

POINTS UPDATE -- The No. 40 remains 23rd in the owner points after this weekend's 15th place finish at Chicagoland Speedway. Curtis Key's entry now sits 210 points inside the top-30.

HALFTIME STATS -- The competition in the NASCAR Nationwide Series has never been better. In the first 17 races of the season there have been 11 different race winners, 10 different Coors Light Pole winners, and 10 races with a margin of victory under one second. 41 drivers, including Scott Wimmer, have led at least one lap this season. In addition, this season has had more green flag passes per race, and more green flag passes for the lead since the inception of Loop Data in 2005.

ROCK THE VOTE -- Voting for NASCAR's most popular Nationwide Series driver has begun! Fans can visit NASCAR.com to vote for Scott Wimmer every day until October 31st. (www.nascar.com/news/features/mpd.poll.nationwide.series/index.ht ml)

Scott Wimmer:

ON GATEWAY -- "I've had really good races at Gateway in the past. I got he track record there in 2007 and finished 2nd, and I've run in the top-5 and the top-10 before that. With the improvements we've been seeing the last few months, I think we can go there, hopefully not have any issues, and just improve on our car. This is a big race for us. It's the home of StopRepairBills.com and we'll definitely have a lot of people there. Hopefully we can have a good race for them and we'll show them what this team is capable of."

ON MID-SEASON GOALS -- "It's good to see the team making a lot of progress since the beginning of the year. At the halfway point you get a good look back at where we started and where we've moved to in the points, and what we've been able to accomplish. It feels real good to see a lot of improvement and hopefully we can continue to do that the second half of the season. I'd like get this car up solidly inside the top-20 and be working our way toward the top-15. I think that's a legitimate goal."
