Team 42 Racing News and Notes of Interest

* Penske Racing development driver Parker Kligerman will attempt to make his fifth career NASCAR Nationwide Series start this weekend in the Aaron's 312 at Talladega Superspeedway.

* Kligerman last competed at Talladega Superspeedway one year ago in the ARCA RE/MAX 250. He started 15th and finished on the lead lap in seventh place.

* Kligerman's last start in the No. 42 Team 42 Racing Dodge Charger was at the Nationwide Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where he qualified a season high 21st on the grid; however, his day ended early when he had a transmission failure on lap 92.

* In his last 25 stock car starts, including the Nationwide Series and ARCA RE/MAX Series, Kligerman has an average starting position of 9.7 and an average finish of 8.1.

* Kligerman made his debut for Team 42 Racing last November in the 2009 Nationwide Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 19-year-old driver had a solid outing in his second career Nationwide Series start driving the No. 42 Ironworks Dodge. He completed 198 laps of the 200-lap event and finished in 25th place.

* On October 3, 2009, Kligerman had a memorable Nationwide Series debut behind the wheel of the No. 22 Penske Truck Rental Dodge Charger at Kansas Speedway. Kligerman won the pole for the Kansas Lottery 300 and led the first seven laps of the race before earning an impressive 16th-place result.

* Kligerman finished second in the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series championship, as he came up just five points shy of the series title. He won series Rookie of the Year honors and led the circuit with nine victories as he posted 14 top-five and 18 top-10 finishes in 21 races.

Parker Kligerman on Racing at Talladega Superspeedway

"I am really excited to be going to Talladega Superspeedway. While I do not have much superspeedway experience, I feel like the experience I do have has been good and prepared me well. We are going into this race with the attitude that we need to get comfortable out on the track and try to make some friends out there. By doing well and running a clean race, I hope to show people that we have a good car to run and draft with. Overall, I am anxious to get the Team 42 car back on the track and I am grateful for the opportunity to go racing."

Crew Chief Chris Carrier on Racing at Talladega Superspeedway

"First, it will be great to get back to the race track with Parker in the Nationwide car after a bit of a layoff from racing. We are all eager to make some positive steps and Talladega is as good of a place as any for that to happen. I believe the Team 42 car will be very competitive this weekend. This particular race car has a good track record. At Daytona in February, I felt it was a top 15 car for qualifying, but rain prevailed and took away our chance to compete. This is the same car, same Dodge engine. We have a short list of changes to try during practice to find some more speed. Racing at Talladega is always unpredictable, and a talented young man like Parker in a solid race car has the potential for a great day. Also, having two guys like Justin Allgaier and Brad Keselowski in fast race cars as teammates could be a big plus. One thing is for certain, it will be exciting to watch and fun to be a part of."
