Scott talks Texas

"Texas is one of, if not the, fastest mile and a half race tracks we go to. It seems to be very aero-sensitive because of the higher speeds. The track surface has gotten considerably rougher over the years so you have to have a good handling package with a sleek car and some power under the hood to get you down the straightaways. Texas is a fun racetrack. The multiple grooves allow for some good passing. While I've never run terrific there in the trucks, I like the fact that it allows you a number of options."

Scott on leading the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings

"It's cool to be leading the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings now, but it's still very early on. There's a very competitive rookie class this year and while we haven't had any spectacular runs since California, we have just been clicking away finishes. Our goals of staying on the lead lap and finishing all the races coincide with what the Raybestos Rookie of the Year program rewards. It looks as though some of the other rookies have their struggles and I'm sure that's why they take the best of 16 races to determine it. We're all out here trying to learn and advance our careers, there will be bumps in the track along the way."

Scott's off-track Texas fun

"I always look forward to having Dollar General on the car. I like Rick (Rick Dreiling, CEO) and all the associates at Dollar General that support the program. I appreciate all that they have done for Braun Racing and using the No. 11 team to further their branding. It's neat to be able to represent all of the associates and be the driving force of the company when we're out there at the racetrack."
