STEVE WALLACE SEARCHING FOR THIRD ROAD COURSE TOP-TEN FINISH OF 2008 AT WATKINS GLEN

RWR Teammate Max Papis' Mission at the Glen is Clear: Victory Lane

WATKINS GLEN, NY (August 6, 2008) Thus far in 2008, one of the unlikeliest of drivers has become one of the Nationwide Series' most consistent road course competitors. Team Atreus Homes & Communities Rusty Wallace Racing driver, Steve Wallace, heads to Watkins Glen International this week, in search of his third road course top-ten finish of 2008. To date, Wallace has scored top-ten finishes in both of the series previous road course events, at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Wallace's tenth-place effort last week in Montreal left him as one of only five drivers and one of only two Nationwide Series regulars with top-ten finishes in all of the series road course events thus far in 2008. His finish also marked his second consecutive top-ten finish overall.

Said Wallace, "I'm looking forward to Watkins Glen this weekend. We've run pretty well so far on road courses this year. It's not that I'm a good road racer, I promise you that, but I try to have fun driving the road courses. A lot of the Nationwide Series guys dread road racing and that attitude shows in the way they run. I just try to have a good time road racing and learn all I can from guys like my teammate. Our team has a little bit of momentum going right now, so hopefully that will carry over to this weekend."

Wallace's teammate, former Grand-Am champion, Max Papis, was a contender for victory last week at Montreal, following an outside pole start. After seeing his chances for victory ended with an off-course excursion in Canada, Papis heads to Watkins Glen looking for a bit of redemption. If history is any indication, the Italian just might find what he is looking for in upstate New York.

Max Papis has two prior victories at Watkins Glen, one during his championship-winning 2004 Grand-Am campaign and the other while behind the wheel of Team Momo's Ferrari 333SP during the 1996 IMSA World Sports Car season. It was during that 1996 season that Papis earned the nickname, "Mad Max", following a furious late-race charge in that years edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Noted Papis, "Our team performed well last week in Canada and I really felt like we had a shot to win, if not for the rain. Were taking some of what we learned in Montreal to Watkins Glen and I feel as if well be equally as fast there. Watkins Glen has been good to me over the years, so I hope that will continue and I'll be able to get a win for this No. 64 Atreus Homes team on Saturday afternoon."

Steve Wallace will attempt to earn his third 2008 road course top-ten this weekend from behind the wheel of RWR-016. The 16 car was Wallace's backup for last weekends at Montreal and last raced in the 2006 edition of the Watkins Glen event, in which Jamie McMurray piloted it to a third-place finish. Max Papis' primary car for this weekend's race is RWR-023. The team's workhorse on the road courses in 2007, the "23 car" was last raced by Wallace at Mexico and Canada last year.
