BKR Take On Trucks – Keselowski honoring his family in Canada

In the weekend theme of NASCAR Throwback paint schemes, team owner Brad Keselowski decided to honor his father and uncle when Brad Keselowski Racing competes at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Sunday afternoon.

Although many of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series teams will be honoring the past with throwback paint schemes this weekend at Darlington Raceway, a handful of teams in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series are doing the same during their event Sunday north of the border.

Brad’s father Bob, who made 169 ARCA starts and 86 starts in the NASCAR Truck Series, and uncle Ron, who made 68 starts in the Cup Series from 1970-74, are both being honored with retro paint schemes on the trucks driven by Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric.

Bob Keselowski said he’s most appreciative of the honor and recognition his son’s team is giving him and his brother this weekend.

“This was a really neat surprise when Brad told me his team decided to do this to honor me and my brother,” he said. “I never thought about something like this being done for me. I really appreciate it. The two paint schemes and colors are from two of my favorites that we had during our racing days. I remember them like it was yesterday.”

Chase Briscoe will honor Bob and his truck victory 20 years ago in 1997 with his No. 29 Cooper Standard Ford F-150, a look that brings back fond memories to the patriarch of the Keselowski family.

“The truck paint scheme was from the best days of our racing career after struggling for so many years,” he said. “At that time we had good sponsorship, had trucks running up front and winning races. Those were the good days.”

Briscoe also has deep ties to the Keselowski family.  In addition to driving for Brad, he also volunteered for the Keselowski Racing team when he first moved to North Carolina and worked directly for Bob and Brian Keselowski, Brad’s brother.

“I’m really excited and honored to be running Bob’s paint scheme at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and I think our Ford F-150 looks great,” said Briscoe. “I've only run one road course in my life, so this is the first race I’m going into with no expectations, but I really hope we put on a good show in our throwback Cooper Standard Ford F-150.”

Cindric will honor Ron with his paint scheme and he’s looking forward to competing on a road course for the first time in a truck.

“The Ron Keselowski throwback paint scheme on our Draw-Tite Ford F-150 this weekend is really cool,” said Cindric. “Hopefully we’ll be able to do everyone proud.”

Check out both trucks during the Chevrolet Silverado 250 live from Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Sunday, Sept. 3rd at 2 p.m. of FS1.
