JACK SPRAGUE, NO. 2 AMERCIAN COMMERCIAL LINES SILVERADO, FINISHED 2nd:

"It was a decent day. I wasn't going to beat Ron, there was no way. He definitely had everybody covered. I don't know between him and the No. 51 who was better. It looked like the No. 51 had it handled at the beginning and then it looked like Ron did but he broke a header or something. Our Chevrolet was pretty solid all day. We started the race really, really tight and Ernie made some great adjustments and got it running pretty good and I was looking at third or fourth where I figured we'd finish. And then during that last run, it came alive and we were running 'em down pretty good. When that caution came out I thought I had a shot at this thing because I knew Ron was wounded a little bit and I figured for sure I could pass Scott. And they dropped the green and I was tight again and he was good, so he drove away and I didn't pass him and took second, again."

AFTER THE RESTART, IT LOOKED LIKE RON WAS HOLDING YOU UP. WERE YOU ABLE TO CLEAR THE AIR?

"Oh, we never had any problem. They told me on the restart he wasn't going to be able to go and he left me the outside. I wasn't holding him up. He had a motor problem and after a few laps I could drive away from him. So we don't have a problem. He was wounded and if he wasn't wounded I would have finished third, there was no doubt in my mind about that. So we've just got to get a little better. We're getting closer. It's a brand new team and people need to realize that. I know we're racing for a company that won the championship last year and against Ron who did win the championship last year, but that's an assembled team that's been together for a long time. We're all new together and this is our sixth or seventh race. So, we're going to get it, trust me. Nobody wants to win any worse than I do, period. But I'm also a points racer. I'm not going to go out there and tear it all to hell if I don't have something to win, just to try to. I got all I could out of it and that's the way it is."

AS A VETERAN, IS IT FRUSTRATING TO SEE THESE NEW GUYS COME IN? WE'VE HAD THREE FIRST TIME WINNERS IN THE PAST THREE WEEKS

"Well, yes and no. When you're in a position he's in or Donny's in last week, they've got nothing to lose. It doesn't take a lot after practice if you're not good to garage-sale it and hope you hit on something. Scott has been good all weekend. He qualified well and he ran well and at the middle stages of the race he didn't seem like he was that good so that's why I thought for sure I could pass him. And at the end he was good. So, he's won an ARCA race at Kansas or something. He obviously can drive race cars. No question in my mind at all, blue toenails or not. So, don't get me wrong. I wanted to win. To get beat by him doesn't rock my world, no because he's a racer and he had a good truck. We just have to work harder and that's what we're going to do."
