The young driver from Appenweier, Germany, will make his debut in the Camping World Truck Series next weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, driving a second Chevrolet Silverado entry for Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing.

"It's a dream come true," said Kunz. "It's a dream come true to participate in a NASCAR race in America. It's such an incredible feeling and I cannot stop smiling.

“I'm looking forward to spend a full week with Jennifer Jo Cobb to prepare the car and myself for the race."

Kunz is the fourth driver from the NASCAR Euro Series to race in one of the three national NASCAR Series. Alon Day competed in the Cup, Xfinity and Trucks Series while Anthony Kumpen and Anthony Gandon made starts in the Xfinity Series. Kunz will be the second NASCAR Whelen Euro Series driver to race in the Truck Series.

"I will try to go into the race without any pressure,” Kunz said. “I just want to have fun and enjoy this experience. I will try to do my best and to finish as good as possible. For me it's very important to meet important people and to show my skills.

“I want to build something up to get more opportunities to race NASCAR in the US. It's my first ever start in the US and it's the NASCAR Truck Series! It's unbelievable!"

Cobb is looking forward to having Kunz drive one of her team’s trucks in the playoff race at CTMP.

“My biggest challenge may be to explain to Justin that our bodies are very expensive to fix even the slightest damage,” joked Cobb. “But if I did not believe in him I would not have invited him to race with us and against me. I think he has what it takes on and off the track to be successful.”

Kunz appreciates the opportunity Cobb is giving him and wants to make the most of the weekend before returning home to compete in the NASCAR Euro Series playoffs.

"Jennifer trusts in me and my skills and she is the one making it happening,” added Kunz. “I thank all my supporters who help me on this awesome journey," said Kunz.

He is currently 15th in the NASCAR Euro ELITE 1 division and 11th in the ELITE 2 division. At Tours Speedway, the only oval in the Euro Series schedule, he scored his first ever top 3 result this year.
