Landon Huffman to make second career Truck start at Martinsville

After making a solid first start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in August, the 21-year-old marketing major at UNC Charlotte is ready to return and make his second career start driving for veteran team owner Mike Mittler.

Mittler’s team – MB Motorsports – is known throughout its team of offering young drivers their first opportunity in the NASCAR series including for  Cup Series start Carl Edwards and current participant in the 2017 NASCAR playoffs Jamie McMurray.

Huffman will drive the No. 36 Chevrolet Silverado truck at Martinsville and is ready for another chance to compete in the NASCAR national series. He's the son of former NASCAR Trucks driver and current truck chief at Brad Keselowski Racing Robert Huffman.

“I am thrilled for another opportunity to work with Mike and his team on the national level,” said Huffman. “I felt like we made solid progress all weekend at Bristol and I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of a truck at Martinsville.  I can’t thank Mike and everyone at MB Motorsports enough for allowing me to continue on this path and showcase what I can do.”

Mittler was happy with Huffman’s first start in his truck at Bristol.

“Landon did a great job for us at Bristol,” said Mittler.  “Bristol is a tough track even when you’re not making your first start in a truck and Landon was really impressive.  He was willing to help work on the truck, he was focused out on the track and he did great with the sponsors and fans alike.  You can’t ask for more from a young man than what he delivered.”

The Texas Roadhouse 200 at Martinsville Speedway will be held on Saturday, October 28th at 1 p.m.
