Morgan heads to Fontana, wedding

Fontana, CA - As the 2000 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season comes to close drivers and teams are preparing for the 2001 season. Most teams are preparing new equipment, making crew changes and recruiting sponsors. For Rob Morgan driver of the #46 Acxiom/AbiliTec Ford F-150 the end of the season brings a time for celebration.

Although Morgan did not secure the 2000 truck series championship, he is set to have the celebration of a lifetime. Morgan will marry Victoria Abajian on November 4th in Laguna Beach, California. Abajian a native of California met Morgan while he was living in Newport Beach, California. The couple has been engaged since March and currently resides in Little Rock, Arkansas.

"What a way to end the season, I go to one of my favorite tracks, the California Speedway and a week later I get married in Laguna Beach. I am really excited about it," commented Morgan.

Morgan started 29th last year in the NAPA Auto Parts 200 and finished one lap down in 16th position. This season however, He has seemed to find the line at the series larger tracks. This season at California's sister track the Michigan International Speedway Morgan qualified 6th, finishing18th in the race.

"California should be a great race for the Acxiom/AbiliTec team," said Morgan. "We have run well on tracks over a mile in length this season. We had a great qualifying run at Michigan, which is very similar in design, so I feel like we can run competitively in Fontana," he added.

The Motorola 200, the season finale for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series begins Saturday, October 28, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Green Flag Coverage can be seen on ESPN 2 with a live radio broadcast on local MRN radio affiliates.
