Wallace's unpredictable 2017 season continues as he prepares to return to the Truck Series for the first time since 2014.

“It’s a great new company coming to the sport,” he said on a Facebook Live stream. “Pretty excited about that. We’ve been working really hard on some projects and we were able to land this one with some great people involved. Pretty pumped about this one.”

The 23-year-old racer started the year off driving for Roush-Fenway Racing in the Xfinity Series, putting himself solidly inside the top five in points for the first part of the season. However, Wallace lost that ride after 12 races due to a lack of funding.

He then made the jump to the Cup level as a substitute driver for Aric Almirola in the No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports Ford. He finished 26th in his debut at Pocono in June, but he only improved from there. He made a total of four starts with the team, finishing as high as 11th at Kentucky before Almirola's return.

But now he's back and returning to the series where he scored his most recent NASCAR victory. Wallace raced full-time in the CWTS in 2013 and 2014, winning five races with Kyle Busch Motorsports.

MDM Motorsports team owner Matthew Miller has fielded multiple drivers in his No. 99 truck throughout the 2017 season, including both the Dillon brothers, Brandon Jones and veteran Timothy Peters.
