Ben Rhodes edges Kyle Busch for Truck pole at Pocono
Two rounds of single-truck qualifying decided the starting lineup for Saturday's Overton's 150 at Pocono Raceway.
In the first round, ThorSport's Ben Rhodes led the way with a 52.970-second lap (169.907mph).
He was followed by Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch, John-Hunter Nemechek and Chase Briscoe. Noah Gragson, Matt Crafton, Ryan Truex, Johnny Sauter and Kaz Grala rounded out the top ten. They were also joined in the final round of qualifying by Austin Hill and Grant Enfinger.
Cody Coughlin was the first driver on the outside looking, 0.254 tenths back of the top 12.
The first round was halted once by an incident involving Justin Fontaine, who spun out of Turn 2 and backed his No. 66 Toyota into the outside wall.
Rhodes was able to do it again in the final round of qualifying with a pole time of 52.931 seconds (170.033mph), edging Kyle Busch by 0.011 hundredths.
Bell, Truex, Briscoe, Nemechek, Sauter, Gragson, Crafton and Hill rounded out the top ten.
For Rhodes, it's his second career CWTS pole and his first of the 2017 season.
