Ft. Worth, TX - Dennis Setzer driver of the #46 Acxiom/Computer Associates Chevrolet may not be the "Lone Star" in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, but he is hoping to outshine the rest of the field Friday night during the running of the Silverado 350 from the Texas Motor Speedway.

"I always enjoy coming to Texas. It has been a good track for me over the years," said Setzer. "Texas is one of those very fast mile-and-a-half racetracks, and I think there are several guys in the field that have the ability to run away with the race. It will be challenging to stay at the head of the pack, but we have a great truck and a good chance of winning."

After starting seventh and finishing second at the South Boston Speedway last Friday, the Morgan/Dollar Motorsports teams hopes are high for the Silverado 350. Setzer's records show him as one of the most accomplished drivers at the 1.5-mile Texas oval. In six NCTS starts, Setzer has an average finishing position of 10.3 with 4 top-10 finishes and a win in the 1999 Pronto Auto Parts 400.

"I've always had a great deal of success down in Texas," Setzer said. "The track offers a unique setup with a great degree of banking in the corners and a couple of smaller turns down the front stretch. It is an extremely fast track with speeds toping 180-miles an hour."

The return of the NCTS at the Texas Motor Speedway marks a significant change in the surface, which has left many drivers guessing. After the June event, Texas officials called for a complete overhaul of the existing surface, replacing it with a new granite-based asphalt.

"From what I have heard, the new asphalt is very smooth," quoted Setzer. "The group at Texas is always conscience of trying to make the track the best it can possibly be; I think this is the second or third time they have pulled the old surface up to replace it. As a driver, that is great -- you know that the track officials are looking out for the competitors' best interests."

The Silverado 350 also marks a homecoming for the Morgan/Dollar Motorsports team based in Hennessey, Okla. The team continues to be one of the only regular competitors in the series that runs from the Oklahoma/Texas area full time, competing out of the state since 1998.

"Texas is going to be a special race to the guys on this team because they are so close to home," Setzer said. "We always have a lot of the Oklahoma faithful in the stands cheering us on and were hoping to have a good run for them."

The Silverado 350 from the Texas Motor Speedway is set to get underway Friday, October 5 beginning at 9 p.m. EST. A live radio broadcast can be found on MRN Radio affiliates beginning at 8:30 p.m. EST. Tape delayed television coverage can be found on ESPN October 6 starting at 1:30 a.m. EST.
