Tyler Reddick tops BKR teammate Hemric for Truck win at Las Vegas
Brad Keselowski Racing dominated Saturday night’s Camping World Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway but it was the team’s driver that didn’t qualify for the championship Chase who stole the show.

Tyler Reddick earned his first win of the season by easily holding off teammate Daniel Hemric to win the DC Solar 350 as BKR earned it first-ever 1-2 finish in its history. The win was also the organization’s first victory on a 1.5-mile speedway.
Reddick, who failed to qualify for the eight-driver Chase, prevented Hemric, who made the Chase, from earning a win that would have locked him into the second round.
Hemric and John Hunter Nemechek are the two Chase drivers lowest in points heading into the series’ next race, Oct. 22 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, and in danger of being eliminated from title contention.
Cole Custer finished third in the race, Ben Kennedy was fourth and William Byron rounded out the top-five.
“It’s an incredible accomplishment, not just for our team, but for the entire organization,” Reddick said in Victory Lane. “It’s something that I and everyone here has wanted to do, which is win on a mile-and-a-half race track.
“I had to get to make some moves and be aggressive and even with my teammate so he’s probably not the happiest after getting on his door so bad. I’m just kind of breathless and speechless.
“It’s a really big deal for everyone on the team.”
For his part, Hemric didn’t appear to be upset after the race.
Asked if he could have caught Reddick if he had a few more laps, he said, “Nah. He was good. Clean air is always king here on these mile-and-a-halves.
“I’m just so proud of everybody at Brad Keselowski Racing. First mile-and-a-half win for BKR. Congratulations to Tyler – they did what they had to go. They won the race off pit road and the clean air, like I said, was such a big deal.”
Heading into the Talladega race Byron is the only driver locked in the second round. The rest of the top six are Christopher Bell, Matt Crafton, Kennedy, Timothy Peters and Johnny Sauter.
