FONTANA, Calif. – After scoring his best finish of the young season last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, Landon Cassill hopes to continue the charge in Saturday’s TreatMyClot.com 300 Nationwide Series race at Auto Club Speedway.
Cassill rolled home 12th in Saturday’s race at BMS and now moves from a fast half-mile track to a very fast two-mile oval.“We’re looking to build on what we’ve got going,” Cassill said. “It’s been a pretty good start to the season for our team with a 21st at Daytona and then a pair of 19ths and now the strong run on a tough day at Bristol. I hope we can add another big day this weekend.”
With Saturday’s finish, Cassill moved into the top 10 in Nationwide driver points. He has finished no lower than 21st in the season’s first four races.
Cassill will be racing in Nationwide for the first time at ACS, although he has four Sprint Cup starts at the track.
Practice for Saturday’s race is scheduled at 4:40 p.m. (ET) and 6 p.m. Friday. Qualifying is set for 1:40 p.m. Saturday, with the race green flag scheduled at 5 p.m.
