The “Dash 4 Cash” program underwent some changes this season, including the addition of the spring Phoenix race as one of the four races in the program. Phoenix replaces Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the program’s schedule.
The remaining four races will be April 22 at Bristol, Tenn.; April 29 Richmond, Va.; and June 3 at Dover, Del.
The top eligible Xfinity Series regular finisher in each event can win a $100,000 bonus. Should the same driver finish highest in all four Dash4Cash races, he would pocket an additional $600,000 bonus for a $1 million total.
With the change to three stages in each race, gone are the heat races that were used last season. The top two Xfinity Series full-time drivers from each stage will become eligible for the Dash4Cash bonus in the final stage.
“Obviously the money is on the line and we want to be able to go and get that, but at the end of the day it is still a race and with these stages we still have many points and playoff implications if you can win that,” said driver Matt Tifft.
“We definitely have a little bit more incentive to go out at the end of the race if we’re in contention for the Dash4Cash prize.”
Only five Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers are entered in Saturday’s race, thanks to a new NASCAR rule that limits Cup drivers to only those with five or fewer full-time seasons of experience.
Those entered are Austin Dillon, Ty Dillon, Daniel Suarez, Erik Jones and Ryan Blaney.
