Making his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut... Jimmy Weller will make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut this weekend at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway. Since the beginning of 2013, the Hubbard, Ohio native has made six starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series where he competes on a part-time basis. Most recently, Weller competed in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway where he finished in the ninth position.

Bringing together two teams... Jimmy Weller will pilot the No. 55 Geneva-Liberty Steel Chevrolet Camaro in a partnership effort between Viva Motorsports and SS Green Light Racing. With both race shops located in the same business park in Mooresville, N.C., Weller has developed strong ties to both organizations over the last several months.

Returning to Richmond International Raceway... Jimmy Weller may be new to the NASCAR Nationwide Series, but this won't be his first time on the 0.75-mile Richmond International Raceway. Weller actually has two NASCAR K&N Pro Series East starts at the Richmond, Va. speedway. After finishing 12th in his first race at the track in 2012, Weller returned to the venue in April 2013. Racing inside the top 10 in that event, Weller was involved in an on-track incident, but rebounded to finish in the 17th position.

Making an impact on kids... Taking several weeks off following the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway, Weller has been busy speaking to various youth groups at schools and churches near his hometown of Hubbard, Ohio. On March 16th, Weller spent the morning speaking to the youth group at Revolution 216, an urban community church in Cleveland, Ohio, where he encourage the kids to follow their dreams and fight through the obstacles they may encounter. Last week, on April 17th, Weller visited Trumbull Career & Technical Center in Warren, Ohio, to talk about safe driving and warn students about the dangers of distracted driving.

Racing on dirt... Planning to run a partial schedule this year at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, Jimmy Weller kicked off his dirt season on Saturday, April 19. Racing in the big block dirt modified division, Weller both started and finished fifth in the feature event after fighting with the handling of his car. Following the action at Richmond International Raceway, Weller will return to Sharon Speedway on Saturday night, April 26, to race his No. 23 big block dirt modified.

Jimmy Weller Quotes...

On making his Nationwide Series Debut: "I'm really looking forward to making my Nationwide Series debut this weekend. I'm excited to be driving the No. 55 Geneva-Liberty Steel Chevrolet Camaro in a joint effort with Viva Motorsports and SS Green Light Racing; it's a great opportunity for me to take the next step in my career and race at the next level. This has been a great season for me so far-running ninth at Daytona and now making my Nationwide debut-I'm excited to see what we're able to do on Friday night."

On racing in Richmond: "Of all the tracks that we could have made our first Nationwide Series start, I'm really happy that we chose Richmond International Raceway. I've raced in a couple K&N Pro Series East races there, so it's a track that I know and one where I'm comfortable. Knowing that I've raced inside the top 10 here gives me that much more confidence going into the race on Friday night. I think it will be a great experience."
