Most drivers who get in a car their with the wrong set-up due to lack of practice and then finish with a top 15 would be content with the results. But then again, most drivers aren’t Grala.
Grala finished 15th and on the lead lap at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International last weekend as he and his team used a road course car from Roush Fenway Racing for the first time.
“Last week was tough because it was our first time working with a road course car from Roush Racing,” said Grala. “Because of the rain we didn’t get much track time with the car to work on the set-up and we kind of went into the race without a chance to change some things on the car.”
Grala was still satisfied in some ways with the finish.

Grala has reason to feel a little more comfortable going into this weekend’s race at Mid-Ohio as his team has had some time this week to work on the car in the shop.
“Our setup was close last week and it could have been better if we would have had time to make some adjustments,” Grala added. “We’ve been able to work on the shocks, springs and a few other items at the shop, so I feel if we can get some good track time in practice and make some final adjustments we should have a good car for the race.”
Although Grala has never competed on the track in Lexington, Ohio, he’s coming in thinking this could be a good weekend.
