However, the biggest hit following races at Bristol Motor Speedway came to crew chief Nick Harrison of the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Xfinity team. The spoiler and spoiler assembly on the No. 3 Chevy did not meet specifications in opening day inspection (20.4.13; 20.4.13.1 a,b,c,d). According to the report, Harrison has been fined $10,000 and suspended through April 27 — which includes this weekend’s race at Richmond International Raceway. Harrison will be on probation until the end of the year.
Richard Childress Racing will not appeal. Ty Dillon is currently sixth in Xfinity Series point standings.
Dillon wasn’t the only RCR car to have issues at Bristol. The No. 33 team failed Laser Inspection Station (LIS) three times in pre-race inspection. The team received a written warning and Brandon Jones will miss 15 minutes of practice at Richmond International Raceway on Friday.
On the Cup side, the Nos. 4, 19 and 88 received written warnings for failing template inspection twice. It’s the third infraction for Carl Edwards’ crew, the second warning for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the first for Kevin Harvick.
Trevor Bayne’s crew failed the LIS twice in pre-qualifying inspection last Friday. It’s the second warning for the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing team.
