The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer will make its NASCAR debut in Saturday’s Buckle Up 200 at Dover International Speedway. The #4 JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet Camaro of NASCAR Nationwide Series rookie Jeffrey Earnhardt (seen in photo in a previous race) will be liveried with the foundation’s logo, courtesy of businessman Ken Adams and longtime Austin Hatcher Foundation supporter Gary Ennis, CEO of Southern Delaware Classic Cars.
Adams and Ennis are long time friends and when this opportunity arose they decided to sponsor the Earnhardt car in the foundation’s name to raise money and awareness in support of the foundation's mission to erase the effects of pediatric cancer. Viewers and fans are invited to participate in the race with Earnhardt by visiting www.hatcherfoundation.org/JeffreyEarnhardt to make a tangible difference for patients, survivors and their families.
“We are humbled by Gary and Ken's generosity towards the Austin Hatcher Foundation.” said foundation Chairman Dr. Jim Osborn. "The foundation has grown with the support of the motorsports community in the American Le Mans Series and IMSA, and now Gary and Ken have given us the opportunity to address a new audience through the NASCAR Nationwide Series."
Jeffrey Earnhardt, great grandson of NASCAR Sportsman Champion Ralph Earnhardt and grandson of 7 time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Dale Earnhardt, is in his rookie season in the Nationwide Series and currently stands in 15th place.
The Austin Hatcher Foundation provides specialized care nationwide for children with cancer and their families, and delivers many of its services through the automotive and motorsports communities.
