Veteran crew chief Mike Kelley, who led Ricky Stenhouse Jr., to the 2011 and 2012 titles, will oversee Majeski’s efforts. Kelley has 12 wins and 13 poles in 266 races.

Majeski competed in both NXS Iowa races earlier this season. The 23-year-old Seymour, Wisconsin native’s best finish was 16th in July.

“Basically, he’s been driving anything he can get his hands on,” said Roush Fenway Racing president Steve Newmark on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Wednesday night. “Ty’s run a couple of races for us this year. He’s been in ARCA. He runs all over the country…Before we coerced him to move down to Charlotte, he was an engineering student at Wisconsin.

“If you look at just how he’s performed, I think in 2016, he may have run 70 or 80 races and won 40 or 50 of them. He’s just a really talented kid. Very down to Earth. We’re really excited to have him join us in Homestead. He works in the shop with us. He’s with us all year round and we’re trying to get him an even greater presence in the Xfinity Series next year. A lot of that is still in the works but maybe he can go out and get a victory at Homestead and start us out right.”
