Wolfe finishes second in MBNA All-American Heroes 150.

Dover, DE -- Paul Wolfe has certainly made the most of his six 2002 NASCAR Busch North starts. The 25 year-old Milford, New York native rocketed to a second-place finish late Friday afternoon in the MBNA All-American Heroes 150 at Dover Downs International Speedway to claim his fourth top-ten finish in six races this season.

After setting a new track record and taking the Bud Pole in the SCOTTR Products Chevrolet a day earlier, Wolfe showed again why he is one of NASCAR's rising stars by leading for the first 64 laps at the one-mile track and then rifling through the field after pitting to retake the lead for laps 104-139.

In the end, heavy lap traffic and an extremely loose racecar combined to slow Wolfe enough to allow Matt Kobyluck to pass and win by only .48 seconds.

"We did all we could to hang on for the victory, but the SCOTTR Products Monte Carlo was very loose today," Wolfe said. "Lap traffic also held us up and allowed the 40 car (Kobyluck) to close in and pass us near the end."

Rounding out the top five after Kobyluck and Wolfe were Martin Truex, Jr., Greg Schaefer and Tracy Gordon.

Wolfe's Heinz USA Crew Chief Dick Glines was impressed with the way his driver handled the racecar. "We thought the track was going to tighten us up a lot more, so we ending up loosening it up too much," Glines said. "Anyone who can handle a car that loose and nearly win a race is an extremely talented driver."

The MBNA All-American Heroes 150 will be broadcast on the Fox Network's SPEED Channel on Monday, Oct. 28. Next up for Wolfe is the Carquest Auto Parts 150 at Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford, Connecticut on Sunday, Sept. 29.
