BNS: Dover: Wolfe wins the pole

Wolfe wins pole for Friday's MBNA All American Heroes 150.

09/19/02 Dover, DE -- Paul Wolfe set a new track record in winning the Bud Pole Award for Friday afternoon's 150-lap Busch North Series race at the Dover International Speedway. Wolfe's fast lap of 24.315 seconds (148.057 MPH) earned him his second pole in six Busch North events this season. "Our setup was great right from the start. We made some minor adjustments, but it didn't need a lot. This SCOTT® Products Chevy is a rocket ship," explained Wolfe. "This is the same car we took sixth place with last weekend at Loudon. The Heinz USA Crew worked hard all week to get it back in shape for this event, and today it paid off."

Last year at Dover, Wolfe was running in second position when he had to pit for a flat tire with under ten laps to go. The team had to settle for a fourteenth place finish that day, but with today's Bud Pole Award they hope to make the 2001 event a distant memory.

Final practice for the Busch North Series is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. today. Race time Friday afternoon is approximately 4:30 p.m. The Busch North Series event is part of a great weekend of racing at Dover International Speedway that also includes the Busch Grand National Division on Saturday, as well as the Winston Cup Series on Sunday. Fox network's SPEED Channel cameras will be on hand to record the MBNA All-American Heroes 150 for telecast on Monday night, October 28.
