WATERBURY, CT. In spite of late race motor problems, Ted Christopher posted an 11th place finish at New Hampshire International Speedway in the LesCare Kitchens, Inc. sponsored car owned by Randy LaJoie Racing. Ted qualified the #13 Chevy Monte Carlo 10th in a field of 44 cars with a time of 30.892. Pressing hard, he was already in 5th by lap 3 and running good. After two cautions by lap 31, Ted was fourth on lap 33 and 3rd by lap 34. He hung onto fourth until lap 81 and dropped back to 5th on lap 82 where he reported a skipping in the motor. Although the motor was not running up to par, Ted said the car was taking the corners great and just kept running his best. Three more cautions before the checkered flag however caused him to lose positions on the restarts and he posted an 11th place finish by the end of the 100-lap race. Crew Chief Ray Holm was assisted by car owner Randy LaJoie in making the calls for the race and both were very happy with Ted's performance. "The restarts really killed me," said Christopher. "The car was handling so good that I know I could have at least held onto fourth for the last 20 laps even with the motor problem. But the lack of that little extra power kept me from holding on on the restarts and too many guys got past me"
This was the third of seven planned races for the Christopher/LesCare/LaJoie program. They finished 42nd after a late race accident at NHIS in May, 30th at Watkins Glen and a strong feature win at Stafford in June. The last four races will be at Stafford on July 28th, Watkins Glen on August 12th, NHIS on September 16th, and Lime Rock Park on October 14th.
LesCare Kitchens, Inc. is an international leader in the production of frameless kitchen and bath cabinetry. Their cabinets are manufactured in two state-of-the-art facilities in Southington and Waterbury Connecticut and employ over 350 people.
