Nazareth, PA (May 17, 2002) - Milford, N.Y. native Paul Wolfe captured his first career NASCAR Busch North Series pole today for tomorrow's Burnham Boilers 100 in record-setting fashion. Wolfe shattered the track record, clocking in at 27.923 seconds, 128.926 mph. The previous track record of 28.500 seconds, 126.315 mph was set last year by Ted Christopher. In all, the first 14 qualifiers topped Christopher's record.

"We were fast when we unloaded this morning and just kept working on it to keep making it better," said the 25-year-old Wolfe. "We went out there and picked up a little more speed than in practice. We were so much faster than a lot of these guys in practice that I thought it might be a little easier and we might have a shot at the pole."

The starting lineup wasn't set without a little bit of excitement, as the day's fastest qualifier, Martin Truex Jr., had his time disallowed after NASCAR officials discovered an unapproved carburetor. Truex will start 31st for tomorrow's Burnham Boilers 100. In addition, Brian Hoar, the day's fourth fastest qualifier, was also send to the back of the starting grid after having his qualifying time disallowed due to altered fuel.

Busch North Series veteran Kelly Moore, who came across the line in 27.948 seconds, 128.811 mph, will join Wolfe on the front row. Dale Quarterley, Matt Kobyluck and Mike Johnson round out the top five.

The 2002 Burnham Boilers 100 NASCAR Busch North Series race takes the green flag Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The race is preceded by NASCAR Featherlite Modified qualifying for Sunday's Service Electric 100 at 12:00 p.m. and the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division qualifying for Sunday's STACKER 2 "200" at 1:00 p.m.

Nazareth Speedway will host NASCAR racing with the NASCAR Busch Series taking center stage on Sunday, May 19, 2002 in the STACKER 2 "200" as the highlight of the weekend's activities. Watch such Busch Series notables such as Kenny Wallace, Jack Sprague, Kerry Earnhardt and Randy LaJoie as they battle for Nazareth bragging rights and you never know who you will see around the Speedway, including WWE (formerly the WWF) Superstar Diamond Dallas Page, who will be giving the command for Sunday's race. The NASCAR Busch North Series will compete in Saturday's Burnham Boilers 100 and following Sunday's Busch Series race, the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series competes in the Service Electric 100.

Tickets for the 2002 STACKER 2 "200" weekend are still available. For tickets, reserved camping and additional information, please contact the Nazareth Speedway ticket office at 1-888-629-RACE(7223) or log on to the official Nazareth Speedway Web site at www.nazarethspeedway.com.
