NASCAR GOODY'S DASH SERIES TAKES ON INTERNATIONAL FLAVOUR

The NASCAR Goody's Dash Series will welcome a new competitor to it's ranks September 20, when British racing champion Chris Hall, 37, makes his NASCAR touring series debut by competing in the American General Finance 100 at Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, N.C. The London, England native, now residing in Dawsonville, Ga., brings with him a dazzling resume of European racing experience that includes more than 70 victories and three championships in Formula Ford, Formula Renault, Formula Three and Sedan divisions. Since moving to the U.S. in 1993, Hall has continued to keep his championship form by winning the SCCA Improved Touring National Championship in 1995. Most days you'll find Hall applying the skills he's learned since beginning his racing career in 1980, teaching his championship techniques at the Road Atlanta Racing School in Gainesville, Ga. But on Saturday nights, Hall learns the subtleties of stock car racing at Lanier National Speedway where has been competing regularly this year, in the NASCAR Winston Racing Series Late Model Stock Division. Hall's 1997 Pontiac Sunfire entry for the American General Finance 100 is from the Mike Watts stable in Gainesville, Ga. and will carry Dixie Medical Associates / Respironics sponsorship. In addition to the Hickory Motor Speedway event, Hall's 1997 plans include competing in the American General Finance 200 at the Concord Motorsports Park in Concord, N.C. November 1.
