17-year-old Dale Earnhardt Inc. development driver Trevor Bayne is ready to end the 2008 NASCAR Camping World East Series season strong this weekend at Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, for the Fall Final 150-lap event. Bayne currently occupies the fifth spot in the season standings as well as second in the Rookie of the Year standings.

Quotes from Trevor Bayne / Driver No. 1 Dale Earnhardt Inc., Chevrolet:

On ending the season at Stafford with a victory: "That's the plan. We've been going into every week trying to dominate and I think we have a good shot at it at Stafford. We've had good cars every single week and they've been capable of winning almost every race, but we've got caught up in a lot of situations that were out of our control. I know we have really good equipment and really good people behind us, and I think we have a good shot at winning this last race."

On trying to win the Rookie of the Year honors: "We still have a chance at the Rookie of the Year deal. I'm not for sure exactly how the points play out, whether it's off of regular points or if they have a system for it. Either way, I think we still have a shot at taking the Rookie of the Year."

On racing at Stafford for the first time: "I've never been there (Stafford) before, but I had never been to Thompson either, and we did well there. When you go to places like that, what's cool is you're open-minded when you get there and you aren't set in your ways. When you go to a track that you have run at before in other cars, you try to bring that over, but sometimes it doesn't work from car to car and different series. So that's one good thing about it. I start with a fresh slate there and I can talk to people that have run around there for years and get a couple of tips, but you do what you feel and you aren't trying to make the car do something it doesn't want to do. I think that's probably the benefit of never being there; that's one way to look at it."

On his Crew Chief's experience at Stafford: "My crew chief Haskell (Rich "Haskell" Lavalette) grew up there around the Modifieds, so he has a little bit of history at the track. He will bring some great knowledge to the weekend, and I think we'll be alright going there."
