Goess Returns to SoBo Ready to Rebound Rookie Season

DENVER, N.C. (May 29, 2008) -- This weekend Craig Goess and his Eddie Sharp Racing team travel to South Boston Speedway for the Strutmasters.com 150. Goess is no stranger to the historic 0.357 mile short track having logged many laps there behind the wheel of a Legends car. Following a frustrating start to his rookie season in the NASCAR Camping World Series East, Goess is anxious to return to the beating and banging around a familiar oval, this time driving the No. 2 Greenville-Toyota Toyota.

Hopefully we'll finally be able to demonstrate what we can do here. The guys have worked really hard and I really appreciate it."

In addition to his test session at South Boston last Friday, Goess traveled to Arizona this week to attend the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in preparation for the upcoming road course race at Watkins Glen.

"It's been a lot of fun and a new challenge for me," commented Goess. "The shifting really keeps you busy out on a road course. I'm excited to race at Watkins Glen next week. I don't doubt it will be a thrilling event."

This weekend's race at South Boston Speedway is Goess's third start in the NASCAR Camping World Series East.

The NASCAR Camping World Series East event is a one-day show at South Boston Speedway. First practice runs from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008, with Final Practice following from 1:30 -- 2:15 p.m. Qualifying begins at 4:45 p.m. followed immediately by the NCWS driver autograph session at 5:45 p.m. Driver introductions take place at 7:15 p.m. and the green flag for the Strutmasters.com 150 drops at 7:30 p.m. All times listed are EASTERN.
