Gateway IndyCar race to be supported by NASCAR K&N Pro Series

Gateway Motorsports Park has announced that its Bommarito Auto Group 500 IndyCar event next August will be supported by the NASCAR K&N Pro Series racing on the same day.

The K&N Pro Series, which helped develop all three of NASCAR’s 2018 champions – Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick and Brett Moffitt – supported IndyCar at Gateway this past season, but the stock car race was held the day before.

Gateway Motorsports Park executive VP and general manager Chris Blair stated: “Our slogan for 2019 is ‘Action is the attraction’ and this doubleheader will be the second of our 2019 season,” Blair said. “The combination of the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West combo race – two races on the same track on the same day – delivers on our promise.”

Gateway’s first doubleheader of the 2019 season will be the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series and the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards combo on Saturday, June 22.

“We are offering more racing than ever before on our IndyCar weekend,” Blair continued. “Gateway fans will see the third annual Bommarito Automotive Group 500 IndyCar race, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, Indy Lights, the Pro Mazda Series and vintage Indy Car racing over one two-day weekend here next year.”

Three of IndyCar’s races are supported by stock cars. As well as Gateway’s double-header, Texas Motor Speedway’s DXC 600 in June is supported by the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, while the ARCA Series is on the same bill as IndyCar at Iowa Speedway in July.
