NASCAR 4 in 1 Show

On Saturday, May 14th, we fought the weather off the entire night, and were able to get in the complete race show of ten heat races and four exciting Feature Events. Due to the rain that was forcasted, the crowd was light, but the racing was anything but light, as the Nascar Weekly show continues to be a exciting evening of short track racing at it's finest.

Andy Bozell turned his early season woes around in grand fashion by capturing his 1st Super Late Model feature win of the year Saturday night at Kalamazoo Speedway. Bozell started in the 10th position inheriting the lead on lap 31 from Jeff Ganus. Ganus held on to finish 2nd with Rick Sexton 3rd, Dave Lober 4th and John Chapman 5th. Jerry Drake was 6th with Phil Massuch, Steve Needles, Phil Bozell and Curt Spalding completing the top 10. Heat race winners were Andy Bozell, Jeff Ganus, and Hank Miller.

Limited Late Model rookie Kyle VanSparrentak started up front and was able to go on and record his 1st ever LLM main event triumph. The 2-time Sport Stock track champion held off fellow rookie Jon Orr with Michelle Sexton, Luke Krick and Jim Hunderman 3-5. 6th-10th were Tom Wright, Rick VanHouten, Mike Brooks, Brandon Lyons and Matt Krywosinski. Heat wins went to Kenny Head, Jacob Hopwood and VanHouten.

On a night of firsts, Todd Foote held off the challenges of Bryan VanZile to win his first Sport Stocks feature of the season. VanZile was 2nd with point leader Ben Raber 3rd, Courtney Weston 4th and John TerMeer 5th. Sixth place went to Trent Hellenga followed by Rod Littell, Dale McGhan, BJ Orr and Al Webber. Sport Stock heat winners were VanZile and Raber.

Brad Shellenbarger was victorious in the 20 lap Home Depot Pure Stock main. Lloyd Brooks continued his recent string of top 5 finishes winding up 2nd. Point leader Greg Haynes was 3rd followed by Frank Abraham and Jacob Caines. 6th was Jimmy Wheaton trailed by Mark Fliearman, Dennis Nyhuis, Butch Glass and Bob Livingston.

Coming up on Saturday, May 21 will be the fast paced action of the Hoosier Outlaw Winged Super Sprints, along with the Limited Late Models, Sport Stocks and Pure Stocks. This will be 1 of only 2 appearances by the Winged Outlaw Sprints this season at Kalamazoo Speedway so don't miss out! Racing action will start at 7 PM!
