FIELD: 36 Cars. Thirty-two starting positions will be determined through two laps of qualifying. Three additional positions will be available to any driver in the top 30 current 2000 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Championship point standings who has not qualified for one of the original 32 positions, provided eligible driver attempts to qualify in qualifying events. Official points standing and not time trial speed will determine these positions. One additional position will be available to any series past champion however if a past champion does not use the spot it will be awarded to the next driver in time trials who has not made the starting field.

THE RACE: The Discount Auto Parts 150 will be race 17 of 18 races on the 2000 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Schedule. Cautions will count towards total laps. And the race can end with a checkered flag or a green-white-checkered situation.

Huffman dominated the event taking the lead at the start of the race with Scott Weaver starting outside front row.
