JASON FRASER NABS BUD POLE AWARD AT EVERGREEN SPEEDWAY

MONROE, Wash. (July 15, 2006) -- Jason Fraser took the Bud Pole at Evergreen Speedway for the Top Foods/Haggen's Wired X Energy Drink 125. He posted a lap time of 17.268 seconds, which translates to 78.179 mph for the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series event on the 3/8-mile inner oval.

For Fraser, of Snohomish, Wash., it was his first Bud Pole of the season and the first of his Northwest Series career for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender. He is the third Sunoco rookie in five races this season to win the Bud Pole Award, joining Troy Tramell and Shane Mitchell. Fraser will start the race in 10th after the 10-car invert.

Travis Bennett posted the second-quickest lap at 17.275 seconds (78.148 mph). Garrett Evans, Jeff Barkshire and Brandon Riehl rounded out the top five time trial efforts.

The 25-car field is scheduled to take the green flag shortly after 8:45 p.m. PDT.
