RIEHL WINS PLATT ELECTRIC 200
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (August 5, 2005) -- Brandon Riehl won the Platt Electric 200, the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series race at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Riehl, of Boring, Ore., started the race in the ninth position and used the high side to work his way forward. He took the lead from Pete Harding on lap 122 and led the final 72 laps. Riehl beat Harding to the line by .993 seconds.
Championship point standings leader Gary Lewis finished third. Nick Lynch and Bobby Latham, III finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
B.J. Tidrick, Mike Longton, Jason Fraser, Jay Sauls and Steven Howard rounded out the top 10.
Unofficially in the point standings, Lewis extended his lead from 88 to 94 points. Riehl moved into second place in front of Travis Bennett.
The Northwest Series takes a short break for three weeks and will be back on the track for a big 2-day Labor Day weekend show,
