Two NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series Crew Chiefs Penalized
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 19, 2004) - NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division officials have penalized two crew chiefs following the Aug. 14 Northwest Series event at Yakima (Wash.) Speedway.
Andy Benedetti, crew chief on the No. 2 car driven by his son, Joe Benedetti, was fined $250 and penalized under section 12-4-A of the 2004 NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division Rule Book, actions detrimental to stock car racing, and section 12-4-Q, any determination that parts and/or equipment used in the event do not conform to NASCAR rules: unapproved shock absorber component.
James Rohwein, crew chief for No. 97 Jason Jefferson, was fined $250 and penalized under section 12-4-A of the 2004 NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division Rule Book, actions detrimental to stock car racing, and section 12-4-Q, any determination that parts and/or equipment used in the event do not conform to NASCAR rules: exceeded the amount of allowed spring rubber inserts.
