JEFF FULTZ HONORED SATURDAY NIGHT AT UNIVERSITY HILTON FOR THIRD NASCAR AUTOZONE ELITE DIVISION, SOUTHEAST SERIES TITLE

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (November 19, 2005) -- They say that to be the man you have to beat the man. This year in NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southeast Series competition, Jeff Fultz once again proved to be the man as he was honored on Saturday night at the University Hilton for his third Southeast Series championship.

Fultz, the all-time Southeast Series win leader added four wins to his racing resume, grabbed the points lead with four races remaining and never looked back to his second straight series title.

"This has been a great year for not only me, but all the other teams and drivers who made my job pretty tough," said Fultz, the driver of the No. 54 C&C Boilers/IEN Chevrolet.. "They say that winning your first championship is the hardest, but guys like Jason Hogan, J.R. Norris and Dusty Williams made it really tough on me this year. What else can you say about Gary Helton because he had a tremendous year in only his first season on the Southeast Series tour. I've got to thank my entire jcr 3 race team for standing behind me for all these years. There is no way I could do this without you guys, I love you guys and I will never forget what you've done for me and my career.

"I'm not sure what my plans are for next season, but I know that I've always got a home with the Southeast Series. I'd just like to thank everybody for all the support and I will never forget it."

Jason Hogan, who finished a close second to Hogan in the final Southeast Series standings, admitted that if he had to get beat by one competitor he couldn't have lost to a better driver than Fultz.

"Congratulations to Jeff and the whole JCR3 team on another championship," Hogan said. "You guys are a class act all the way around and I have a lot of respect for each of you. I would also like to congratulate Gary Helton and his team on their Sunoco Rookie of the Year award and an outstanding performance."

Helton had three wins this season en route to finishing third in the final standings to secure his Sunoco Rookie of the Year title.

"What a great year this entire Volunteer Performance Racing Engines Chevrolet have had this year," Helton said. "With it being my first year in the Southeast Series, I really didn't know what to expect. It's been a fun ride and I can't wait to get next year started and see if we can give Jeff Fultz a run for his money."

Other award winners were as follows: Hogan won both the Bud Pole Award as well as the POWERade Power Move of the race award; Jeff Fultz with the coveted Most Popular Driver award along with the Featherlite Most Improved Driver Award; Dusty Williams with the Driver Achievement Award; Clyde Moody with the Southeast Series Dedication Award; and finally Randy Wilson for the Sportsmanship Award.
