Hogan Ready For Race Win #101 At Lanier National Speedway
21-Year-Old Now Wants Southeast Series Points Lead Back

CONCORD, NC (June 29, 2004) -- If there is such a thing as home track advantage in the motorsports world, Jason Hogan will have it this Thursday when the NASCAR Southeast Series visits Georgia's Lanier National Speedway (Braselton). Hogan grew up less than 30 minutes from the 3/8-mile track and has run more than an estimated 300 races at the track in everything from Legends cars to Junior Late Models to Super Late Models.

In those 300-plus races, Hogan has amassed approximately 100 wins. However, race win 101 is all that is on his mind now; it could be his biggest ever at the track.

"I started racing at the track in 1994, but I've been going there since the mid-to-late-80s when my dad owned cars out here," said the 21-year-old Hogan, a native of Cleveland, GA. "I've won at the track a lot of times, but I think winning the Southeast Series race there would be the biggest thing I have ever done because the SES is where I make my home now. Plus, I want that points lead back and it would be great to get it back in front of my crowd.

"I've got a lot of fans that will come out and support me at the track. They've watched me grow up as a racer at the place, so they follow my career pretty closely. I go down there and help out a couple of buddies of mine during my off weekends and people are always asking me how we are doing with the Southeast car. Now they will get to see first hand; so this is an important race. We've got a couple of great local businesses that are showing their support of the team for that race as well."

Vecco Incorporated and Southern Cleaning Services Inc. will join Universal Chevrolet as sponsors on the #92 during the Firecracker 150 on Thursday night.

"They are two great local companies that have really shown their support of this team and this is the perfect place for them to come on board and help up. We appreciate all of their help because every little bit helps.

"We plan on getting them plenty of exposure because we plan on being in Victory Lane at the end of the night. I am confident in myself and this team. This is my track."

Hogan has found time to compete at Lanier twice this year. He raced his Legends car on an off-weekend earlier this year and he finished second after dominating most of the Southern All Stars Super Late Model event there near the end of May.

In six NASCAR SES races this year, Hogan has four top-10 finishes, including two wins and one second-place finish. He sits second in the point standings, a mere four points behind rival Jeff Fultz.

"It is going to be a battle. Jeff is good about everywhere we go. And JR Norris knows Lanier, but I don't think anyone has the knowledge of the place like I do. We will have a pretty big advantage just unloading off of the truck with a great setup. I have a good feeling about the weekend. This could be our time to shine and get back on track."
