Hills Bros. All Pro Series, NASCAR Touring next stop Nashville Superspeedway.

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. (May 24 2002) - Running on a superspeedway is the epitomy of any short track race driver.

The new Nashville Superspeedway in Nashville, Tn. will fill that desire for drivers on the Hills Bros. All Pro Series, NASCAR Touring when the series stops at the 1.333-mile speedplant on June 7 for the running of the $110,550 Sunbelt Rental 125.

Several drivers on the series have superspeedway experience but for Eddie Hoffman of Wheaton, Ill., returning to Nashville is special. Hoffman, a regular competitor with RE/MAX Challenge Series, NASCAR Touring, won the final race of 2001 on the Hills Bros. All Pro Series, at this facility.

This will be the second series event at this track with another race set for July 19.

Hoffman has two career wins with this series with his first win coming in the final All American 400 at Nashville Speedway USA in 2001. He has been a stalwart with the RE/MAX Challenge Series for many years winning the series championship in 1997 when the series was known as ARTGO.

"Coming south to race is a new adventure for our team which is relatively new with car owner Tom Kmak," said Hoffman. We wanted to expand our racing program and the competition on this series is tough and the more superspeedway racing we can get will only help us towards our goal of moving up to the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division."

"We are trying to divide our time between All Pro and the RE/MAX Series," continued Hoffman, "since we are so high in series points with both series." Hoffman is leading the RE/MAX Challenge Series points as of May 22 and is ranked third in the Hills Bros. All Pro Series points entering the Nashville event.

Hoffman will have stiff competition when it comes to superspeedway competition. Jeff Fultz, seventh in Hills Bros. All Pro Series points finished fourth at Nashville last year and won both races at Kentucky Speedway. Billy Bigley Jr., 2000 Hills Bros. All Pro Series Champion, spent 2001 competing with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and gained valuable speedway experience.

Toby Porter has returned to the series full-time for 2002 and has won the last two series events. He gained superspeedway experience when he drove for the late Harry Ranier in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Porter has been running locally at Greenville-Pickens Speedway for the past couple of years and will certainly be a driver to be watched.

David Reutimann leads the series points standing after three races and has been strong in 2002. With two Bud Pole starts in 2002 and his first NASCAR career win in March at Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway, Reutimann is having his best year ever with the series. He has also led more laps in 2002 then any other driver.

Joining these seasoned veterans will be series regulars Chad Bland, Randy Gentry, A. J. Frank, Steven Howard, Allen Karnes, Ken Weaver, Shane Sieg, Chris Fontaine, Stanley Smith, Greg Pope, Ray Skillman, Benny Gordon, Charlie Bradberry, Jody Lavender, Kevin Prince, Michael Britt and John Nutley. Howard Bixman of Groveland, Mi. and hometown driver Cecil Chunn of Spring Hill, Tn. will be making their first series start in 2002.

A strong 2002 rookie class led by Jason Hogan, Cleveland, Ga., and including Jarod Robie of Candia, N. H., Dusty Williams of Savannah, Ga., Joe Aramendia of San Antonio. Tx. and Johnny Brazier, Lickskillet, Al., have also entered this event.

The Sunbelt Rentals 125 will be one of five series events televised in 2002. This race will be shown on the Speed Channel on June 24 2002 at 8:00 ET.

This event will be in conjunction with the NASCAR Busch Series.

Action gets underway for Hills Bros. All Pro Series teams when pit gates open at 8:00 am Friday morning. Teams will practice from 10:00 to 11:00 am and again from 11:50 am to 12:50 pm with qualifying set for 3:15 pm. The Sunbelt Rentals 125 should take the green flag at 9:00 pm ET.
