WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Oct. 28, 2006) -- NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour driver Junior Miller was honored Saturday at the Marriott in downtown Winston-Salem for winning the 2006 championship. It marked the second straight year that Miller received the accolades from his fellow racing peers for winning the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour championship.

Miller, a native of Pine Hall, N.C., said he was proud of his season which produced six victories and 11 Top-10 finishes.

They make my job easy and I'm glad that the guys were here tonight to celebrate our second straight NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour championship. I have to thank NASCAR for all the time and effort they put into making this banquet such a nice event."
