November 4, 2002, El Cajon, California: With four days to go before the final races of the Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring season, twenty year-old driver Brandon Whitt is poised to achieve both his goals for the season: winning Rookie of the Year, and finishing top ten in overall points.  With a six-point advantage over his only remaining rookie competitor, Brandon can clinch Rookie of the Year simply by qualifying for the Cruise America 125 at Phoenix on Wednesday.

Consistency in qualifying and finishing has been the key to a successful debut season for Brandon and his family-run Clean Line Racing team.  One of only nine drivers to qualify for every Featherlite Southwest race this year, Brandon is currently ranked ninth in overall championship points, helped by his 11th place finish at Bakersfield on October 20th.

"We're proud of what we've accomplished in our first year in the series," says Brandon.  "But we are well aware of how far we need to come in order to be competing for the win on a regular basis.  With our season-long goals clearly in sight, we now need to set new, more aggressive goals for next year and come up with a plan on how to achieve them."

Brandon will also make an appearance at the Fourth Annual 76 & Circle K Zoomfest in Downtown Phoenix on Thursday, November 7th from 4pm-10pm at The Arizona Center. This multi-sensory interactive street festival will include appearances by drivers from all four NASCAR series, show cars, a simulator, a live memorabilia auction and much more.

Qualifying: Phoenix International Raceway, Wednesday Nov 6th, 2:00 PM
Race: Thursday Nov 7th, 3:45 PM
Zoomfest: Thursday Nov 7th, 4pm-10pm at Arizona Center
