Rookie Burson Excited About Phoenix Finale
Albuquerque, New Mexico- 2003 NASCAR Elite Division, Featherlite Southwest Series Victory Circle Chassis' Rookie of the Year contender Danny Burson of Albuquerque, New Mexico is pleased to announce that Bob Molner's Wide World of Maps company has joined forces with Burson Racing for the October 30th season finale at Phoenix International Raceway.
After a strong finish of 2nd place on October 18th at Mesa Marin Raceway Burson has moved into 12th place for the 2003 overall season points and is currently second in the rookie standings.
The 19 year old Burson has had a few hurdles to over come this year after blowing a motor at Stockton. Since Stockton, Burson and his team have tallied impressive finishes that has moved this talented up the point standings after each event . Burson eyes a top ten points finish and knows a strong performance at Phoenix Int'l Raceway will pay dividends. Scoring four top five and six top ten performances in twelve starts this season, Burson hopes that this momentum will attract interest from a regional sponsor looking for a star on the rise.
"I am looking forward to next Thursday's race at PIR," said Burson. "I'm hoping for a strong finish. My dad ( Scott Burson ) and the entire team have put in long hours this year to help get me where I am . I'd really like to bring home a win for our team this year".
The Featherlite Southwest Series last race for the 2003 season is "The Cruise America 125 at Phoenix International Raceway- Thursday Oct. 30, 2003 . The race will take the green flag at 3:30 pm PST and will air on Fox Sports Net.
