Great Effort For Moses Smith And The No. 16 Hasa Pool Products
Moses Smith, driver of the No. 16 Hasa Pool Products/White Flyer Toyota Camry was on the top of the board during the first practice. The NASCAR Camping World Series West driver from Bill McAnally Racing and the Hasa team were all fired up for the Toyota Bi-Mart 150 presented by NAPA.
Qualifying began at the 3/8ths short track at 5 pm and Smith broke last year's best qualifying time with a 15.081 putting Smith on the inside of row two for the start of the race.
The No. 16 Hasa Toyota ran in the top three until lap 96 when Smith took over the top position. He lost a couple of positions after the restart of the race at lap 114 of the 150-lap race and would finish the race in 7th, his 6th top-ten finish of the season. He is 7th in the chase for the series championship.
Moses Smith #16 - PowerAde Move Award
"We had a great Hasa Toyota Camry for this race," said Smith. "Crew chief Duane Knorr and all of the team did an awesome job setting up this car. We tested a few weeks ago and knew we would be good here in Roseburg. The car was great but I got stuck on a restart on the outside row and lost several spots. We were in a fight for position right up until the checked flag."
"We had great support once again from our race partner, Hasa Pool Products," continued Smith. "There were over 400 Hasa customers cheering for us. At driver introductions, they were yelling 'Hasa' from turn four. It was great to have them there."
The next event on the schedule for the NASCAR Camping World Series West is at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash., on July 26. The race from Douglas County Speedway will be presented in an enhanced replay on SPEED Channel on July 24th. Check your local listings.
