Scott Lynch Wins at Roseburg

Roseburg, Ore...Hitting upon the right combination of skill and luck, Scott Lynch expertly drove his 08 Yerf-Dog/Orleans Dodge to victory at the NAPA Auto Parts 200, Sunday, September 19 at Douglas County Speedway.

"This definitely feels good," said Lynch who finished with a margin of victory of 1.675 seconds. "For the first time this season 'Lady Luck' was obviously on our side. If you'd asked me what I thought when the race was red flagged on Saturday night, I wouldn't have given us top odds for a win, but today was obviously a whole different story."

Qualifying on Saturday, Lynch, the reigning NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series Champion, took the 4th place slot with a time of 15.533. "We ran well in practice and were pretty pleased with our Yerf-Dog/Orleans Dodge", says Lynch. "We figured if everything went according to plan, we definitely had a top three car."

Taking the Green Flag, Lynch was running in a solid 4th when rain began to sprinkle. "It had rained on an off all day so the instant the track got damp again, our Dodge got loose getting in and tight in the middle," explained the Burley, Idaho native. It made it impossible to pass and it was pretty much like trying to race on ice. However, we only ran a few laps before NASCAR made the decision to throw the red flag and end the competition for the night."

Returning on Sunday, racers lined up according to race positions, again gridding Lynch in 4th. "Just a little over halfway, we moved into third," continues Lynch. "There was a caution around Lap 110 and on the restart on Lap 120 the leaders spun and with 'Lady Luck" sitting on my shoulder, I was able to get past without a scratch and take over the lead. It was definitely our lucky day."

This victory marks Lynch fifth career win. "We are really pleased to bring this win home for Yerf-Dog," says Lynch. "There are still four races left and we would like to win every single one. We were highly motivated coming into this round and taking the Checkered just served to make the entire team even more determined. I am really proud of these guys. They are dynamite, as are our Kroyer Racing Engines. If we can just keep 'Lady Luck' on our side, there is no reason, we can't keep winning."
