Park City, UT (November 14, 2010) -- 19 year-old NASCAR K&N Pro Series, West rookie Michael Self will race the final two races of the 2010 campaign with Golden Gate Racing Team, an affiliate of Richard Childress Racing. Coming up this Saturday night is the TOYOTA / NAPA 150 at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif.

Race fans can also visit Self and check out his Bay Bio Diesel #21 Chevrolet during the free Pick-n-Pull Fan Fest on Friday night at the speedway.

Q: Tell me what it's like getting to race for GGRT?

SELF: I'm really excited. So far we've just seen a really huge difference. Everything is just so professional from the standpoint of them having an awesome track record and they've done really good over the past couple years. They've had a couple of great drivers such as Ryan Foster and David Mayhew over the years. I'm getting to run for a team that has a really good track record and really good equipment; it's pretty much a dream come true.

Q: Looking ahead to Roseville, that's a track you've been very successful at. Why have you been so successful there?

SELF: It's hard to say. The last race of the year last year is when we really started getting comfortable in the Late Model and ended up with a second place finish. When we went back at the beginning of the year everything just clicked and we were great right out of the box. I spent a lot of time with Mike Naake learning about the track and basically just got a really good feel for it. Unfortunately I've never been able to qualify great at Roseville no matter what we've done but I've always been able to run strong there. Just like in the West race earlier this year we were probably one of a few cars that could make passes on the outside. I think that's a big part of it -- learning where and how to pass.

Q: After the bad luck you had in the first West race at Roseville this year, even though you had top-five speed, does that make you even more motivated to do well this weekend?

SELF: Oh definitely, every race we go to we want to win. Everyone is putting in their hardest work for this weekend. It would be a huge way to show everyone that we are serious about this series.

Q: How important is for you to do well in these last two races when it comes to your 2011 plans?

SELF: It's huge. I mean we're starting to get closer on our 2011 plans. Phoenix is going to be big for us with Childress there and my results over these final two races is going to have a big impact on if I'm able to possibly sign with RCR as a development driver for the 2011 season. These are the two biggest races of the year for me right now. I've been put in the best equipment and now I've got to back it up.
