Veteran Road Racer Rick Boysal Ready to Make First of Three NASCAR K&N Pro Series Starts

San Ramon, CA (June 16, 2010) CTR Motorsports and driver Rick Boysal of San Ramon have waited all season for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series to come to Infineon Racway in nearby Sonoma, CA. Boysal is set to tackle the first of three road course events in the west's oldest stock car series this weekend at a track he knows like the back of his hand.

Though Boysal has been waiting for this weekend, he has kept himself very busy preparing for this event which will boast a stout field of series regulars plus several other road racing hotshoes that will make qualifying for the Thunder Valley Casino Resort "200" a race within a race.

The Blentec/Gatorz Eyewear/ Medical Staffing Force team has been testing all spring in preparation for the upcoming event at Infineon Raceway where he plans to improve on last year's performance. Boysal has been working with longtime Sprint Cup Series road racing ace Chris Cook, (www.chriscookperformance.com) who has coached several notable drivers such as Tony Stewart, Joey Lagano, Regan Smith and David Rueteman, in order to gain confidence wrestling a 3,400 stock car.

"Although I call Infineon my home track, I know working with Chris has given me a lot more confidence when it comes to these cars," stated Boysal. "I am confident we will be ready for the challenge and I look forward to good run and the opportunity for our sponsor partners to enjoy a great racing event," Boysal said.

"Last season I was pleased with our finish (19th) considering it was our first time out in the car," Boysal said. "I know I can do better personally and that is why I partnered with Thompson Motorsports to prepare my car for the three road course events this year. They have a lot of proven success and experience in this series and have the team that can get us to the front."

Infineon Raceway offers drivers one of the most unique and challenging layouts anywhere in racing. "This is a momentum track," Boysal said. "You make a small mistake it can take you two laps to make it up. It is critical to hit your marks at every corner and stay on track."

Boysal began his racing career in 2000 and has focused on road racing winning races and championships along the way in the SCCA and then later racing the SPEED World Challenge in a Corvette, along with competing in a variety of other sports car races.

After NASCAR K&N Pro Series event at Infineon Raceway this weekend, Boysal will turn his attention to the flat 1.9-mile layout of Portland International Raceway in Portland, OR July 18. His final series road course event will be in September along side the Grand AM Series at the state-of-the-art Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah September 12.

Boysal also plans field a car in NASCAR's Nationwide Series and will compete in select SCCA and other road racing events this season. Boysal's NASCAR K&N Pro Series cars are prepared and maintained by Thompson Motorsports in Jerome, Idaho.
