WS: Stockton II: Race notes

STOCKTON, Calif. - Mike David scored his first career victory in the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series by winning the Dodge Country/Havoline/NAPA Auto Parts 200 on his home track at Stockton 99 Speedway on Saturday.

David gained the lead after a tangle left the early leader Scott Lynch sidelined on lap 27. David never looked back as he led to the finish.

Mike Duncan, who trailed David throughout the event, extended his lead in the championship standings with a second-place finish. Tim Smith had a career-best third-place finish, followed by Scott Gaylord in fourth. John Moore also had a career-best finish, coming home fifth.

Duncan extended his lead in the championship chase to 73 points over Austin Cameron, who was sidelined by an incident on lap 92 that left him to finish 17th.
