Atlanta, Sunday: Bruce's Super Body Shops Corvette loses a close one in Sunday's first round. The Wiseguys are zero for two against Tony Pedregon. In spite of this the Wiseguys had their best weekend ever after stringing together two low five second ET's in qualifying. In addition to clicking off a 5.03 against Pedregon in Sunday's first round.

Weis said "We have had a good outing this weekend. We are really pleased with the performance of Bonnifante's clutch. This coupled with Tootees excellent working chassis has put us in a position to make the best runs for the team to date. Now we will have to concentrate harder on our engine program to try to get one of these grenade's to stay together for five seconds. I feel that I could have given Tony a better race, but I was late, and the engine started to puke out it's innards at about half track. So I pulled the plug and watched him drive away. We're not down though, it's clear to anyone that we are making progress. If we can get one to stay lit wire-to-wire we will be right there."
