BRAINERD, Min - Defending Division 5 Federal Mogul Dragster Champion David Wells will be looking to regain his championship form of last year at this weekend's Division 5 Federal Mogul Drag Racing Series event at The Colonel's Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota. The LeMars, Iowa driver has struggled with has struggled at the last two races, but thinks he has a handle on his tireshake problems.

Wells said, "We have been trying a lot of different things this year with different tires, and different transmission ratios. We started off the year with the Hoosier tires in Houston then tried some new Goodyear tires at the last few races, and haven't had much success."

Wells has semifinal finishes on both the national and divisional level this year before losing in the first round of last weekend's Prestone Nationals in Joliet, Illinois. Wells will be looking to better those semifinal finishes with a win in his Blue Bunny Ice Cream/Plain Vanilla entry in Brainerd.

"We are trying some more tires Goodyear has given us to test this weekend, and we will continue to experiment with gear ratios until we get it right. That's what it takes, just plugging in different variables until you find the right one," said Wells.
